Why is my trivet oily?

Our products are finished with food grade mineral oil. Your trivet or cutting board may have an oily feel or visible oil in certain areas when it arrives.  You can simply wipe this away with a paper napkin or towel.

How do I clean my trivet?

If you spill food or beverage on your trivet, feel free to clean it with a damp dishcloth, using dish detergent if needed. Pat dry with a dish cloth or paper towel. Allow the trivet to dry completely before storing it. Do not place trivet in dishwasher or completely submerge in water.

Why doesn't my item look exactly the way it shows on the website?
All of our products are made of wood, a natural product. Wood can vary in color and have differences in grain that are not defects, but character that gives the wood its natural beauty.
